This role is based in South Africa and supports a UK accountancy practice remotely. You’ll play a key role in leading operations, managing workflow, supporting client delivery and helping drive performance across the practice.

Your role in the Revolution
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the accountancy practice, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, accurately and to deadline.
- Manage workflow, resource allocation and team capacity across accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping, payroll and audit where applicable.
- Lead, manage and develop the team, including coaching, reviewing work, supporting performance and mentoring junior staff.
- Review accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and related compliance work in line with internal review procedures and the appropriate level of authority.
- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries, service delivery and relationship management.
- Support clients with accounting, tax, VAT and general advisory matters, escalating complex issues where needed.
- Ensure jobs are completed in line with internal procedures, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor deadlines, work in progress and service levels to maintain a high standard of client delivery.
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency across the practice.
- Work closely with Partners and senior leadership on planning, financial performance and business growth.
- Contribute to new business development, client meetings and practice growth initiatives.
- Support the development of systems, reporting and controls that improve visibility, accountability and performance across the practice.
Expertise you bring
- Previous experience in a Practice Manager, General Practice Manager, Accounts and Tax Manager or similar role within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong background in general practice, with solid working knowledge of statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, bookkeeping and personal tax.
- Experience managing client relationships across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop staff within a practice environment.
- Strong experience reviewing the work of junior and part-qualified team members.
- Confident managing workflow, deadlines and priorities across multiple assignments.
- Strong technical knowledge across accounting, tax, compliance and practice operations.
- ACA, ACCA, CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification would be preferred, although strong QBE candidates should also be considered.
- Good working knowledge of practice software, accounting systems and practice management tools.
- Strong client-facing, communication and relationship management skills.
- Commercially aware, proactive and solutions-focused.
