- Own cash flow forecasting, working capital management and visibility of short-term and longer-term funding requirements.
- Lead annual budgeting, reforecasting and wider financial planning processes.
- Build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, growth planning and scenario analysis.
- Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Oversee the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and month-end processes.
- Strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and support the development of scalable systems.
- Manage and develop the finance team remotely, setting priorities and ensuring accountability.
- Work with external accountants, auditors, banks, lenders and advisers as required.
- Support strategic activity such as pricing decisions, investment planning, business change and growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance across core finance, tax and reporting obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance operations, reporting and use of technology across the business.
Expertise you bring
- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA(SA) or equivalent.
- Significant senior finance leadership experience at Finance Director, Head of Finance, Financial Controller or similar level.
- Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial controls.
- Experience working within SMEs, growing businesses or owner-managed environments would be highly valuable.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial information into practical business decisions.
- Confident presenting to senior stakeholders and contributing at leadership or board level.
- Experience managing finance teams and improving finance processes and systems.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a hands-on approach where required.
- Able to operate independently and effectively within a remote working model.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across a distributed team and wider stakeholder group.
Your skills for success
- Strategic thinker with strong operational grip.
