This role is based in South Africa and supports a UK accountancy practice remotely. You’ll play a key role in leading operations, managing workflow, supporting client delivery and helping drive performance across the practice.

If you’re commercially aware, operationally strong and confident leading people in a practice environment, this could be a brilliant fit.

Your role in the Revolution

  • Lead, manage and develop the team, including coaching, reviewing work, supporting performance and mentoring junior staff.
  • Review accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and related compliance work in line with internal review procedures and the appropriate level of authority.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries, service delivery and relationship management.
  • Support clients with accounting, tax, VAT and general advisory matters, escalating complex issues where needed.
  • Ensure jobs are completed in line with internal procedures, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor deadlines, work in progress and service levels to maintain a high standard of client delivery.
  • Drive process improvement and operational efficiency across the practice.
  • Work closely with Partners and senior leadership on planning, financial performance and business growth.
  • Contribute to new business development, client meetings and practice growth initiatives.
  • Support the development of systems, reporting and controls that improve visibility, accountability and performance across the practice.

Expertise you bring

  • Previous experience in a Practice Manager, General Practice Manager, Accounts and Tax Manager or similar role within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong background in general practice, with solid working knowledge of statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, bookkeeping and personal tax.
  • Experience managing client relationships across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and develop staff within a practice environment.
  • Strong experience reviewing the work of junior and part-qualified team members.
  • Confident managing workflow, deadlines and priorities across multiple assignments.
  • Strong technical knowledge across accounting, tax, compliance and practice operations.
  • ACA, ACCA, CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification would be preferred, although strong QBE candidates should also be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of practice software, accounting systems and practice management tools.
  • Strong client-facing, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and solutions-focused.

Your skills for success
