This role is based in South Africa and supports UK clients remotely across bookkeeping, year-end accounts and related compliance work.

Your role in the Revolution
- Prepare year-end accounts and statutory financial statements for a range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and LLPs.
- Prepare accounts under FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105, where applicable.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and complete bookkeeping work through to trial balance.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
- Prepare personal tax returns accurately and within deadlines.
- Prepare management accounts, reconciliations and supporting schedules where required.
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients and act as a day-to-day point of contact for bookkeeping, accounts and related queries.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain records, resolve queries and support them with day-to-day finance matters.
- Support Managers and Directors with more complex accounts work, ad hoc assignments and client-related projects.
- Review the work of junior team members where required and support their day-to-day development.
- Ensure working papers, files and assignments are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Use practice and cloud accounting software effectively to manage client work and workflow.
- Identify errors, omissions and areas for improvement within bookkeeping and accounts records.
- Ensure work is completed in line with internal procedures, compliance standards and practice requirements.
Expertise you bring
- Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice in an Accounts Senior, Senior Accountant, Senior Bookkeeper or similar role.
- Strong experience in year-end accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and personal tax returns within practice.
- Experience managing work for a mixed client base, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Good working knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT, personal tax and accounts preparation.
- Confident using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and similar systems.
- Able to manage multiple client deadlines and work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication and client relationship skills, with the confidence to handle day-to-day queries professionally.
- Experience reviewing or supporting junior staff would be beneficial.
- AAT, ACA, ACCA, CA(SA) or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, although part-qualified, finalist and QBE candidates may also be considered.
